Caged chicken to feed sand properly

Experiments have shown that adding appropriate amounts of grits in the feed of cage chickens improves the digestive capacity of the chickens and can increase feed utilization by about 10%, and that the constitution of chickens is significantly better than chickens that do not supply grits.

Take 1,000 chickens as an example. From 5 to 8 weeks of age, supply 4 to 4.5 kg of gravel that can pass through a 1 mm sieve every week; from 9 to 12 weeks of age, supply 8 to 9 kg of gravel that can pass through a 3 mm sieve every week. From 13 to 20 weeks of age, 10 to 11 kg of grits that can pass through 3 to 4 mm sieves are supplied every week; from 20 weeks of age, 12 to 13 kg of grits that can pass through a 4 mm sieve are supplied each week. The gravel can be mixed in the feed, or it can be put into the sand pit alone for any chicken to eat freely.

The gravel to be fed requires cleanliness. It is best to rinse with clean water first, then disinfect it with 0.1% potassium permanganate solution or other disinfectant, and then use it after drying. The change from fine grit to coarse gravel should be gradual and gradual, and the replacement time should be 3 to 4 days, so as to avoid sudden replacement causing chicken discomfort and affecting growth and development.
