Tea tree frost damage remedies

From February 15 to 18, we conducted investigations on the damage of tea trees in Zixingtang, Pengshi, Guochao, and Huazhou Chatang tea plants. The survey found that in a well-fermented tea garden, the green leaves of the tea tree are thick and strong, and the degree of damage is lighter, and vice versa. Different species suffered different levels of damage, among which the early-born varieties Fuyun 6 and Fuding Dahao and Bai were affected earlier. In the late-middle age, Bixiangzao, Xieyeqi, Maohai and group species suffered minor disasters. In general, all investigation sites suffered from frost damage in tea trees, of which about 50% were heavily affected. It can be concluded that this year's elite tea associations will reduce production by 50% to 60%, and tea farms will lose over 40% of their economic losses. The current remedial measures for tea gardens are:

The plain tea tree is lightly trimmed as soon as possible, and the mountain tea tree is trimmed after the temperature stabilizes. The degree of trimming depends on the degree of freezing of the tea tree. The frozen dead leaves and branch shoots should be cut as far as possible, but do not cut too much; otherwise, the mining will be delayed. , affecting production.

After pruning, apply fertilizer quickly and quickly as soon as possible, apply 20-25 kg of urea per acre, and spray 0.2% concentration of urea foliar fertilizer as soon as possible to promote the restoration of vigor.

For low-lying land, clear the drainage as soon as possible in order to facilitate ventilation, increase soil temperature, prevent accumulation of water, and promote root growth.

For frozen tea, processing should be strictly separated from the frozen buds and normal buds to prevent deterioration of the overall tea quality.

For frozen shoots, because the water content is low, the buds are relatively dry, it is recommended that the fixation is lighter, the rubbing is heavier, and the dry tip removed.

In order to avoid future disasters of the same type, it is recommended that the following measures be taken in the construction and management of the tea gardens: First, select good varieties with good frost resistance, such as Qi Yeqi and Bi Xiangzao, and match the early, middle and late varieties. The second is to strengthen the management of tea gardens, fertilize more, and increase tree vigor. Thirdly, the annual basal-fertilizer time should be arranged as far as possible after the closure of the park to promote the growth of tea roots and the accumulation of tea nutrition. Fourth, the tea garden covers more straw, which not only increases fertility, but also loosens soil, retains water, preserves fertilizer, and resists freezing and freezing.
