Meat pigeon factory culture technology

Meat pigeon factory farming technology is very suitable for promotion and application in rural meat pigeon farmers in China. Its technical methods mainly include the following aspects:

1. Equipment: First of all, infrastructure such as hatching machines, hatching machines, incubators for young pigeons should be prepared. The countryside can be self-made, its cost is low, the operation is simple, and the effect is basically similar to that of a large-scale hatchery.

2. Take eggs: After feeding the feed each morning, gently remove the egg from the egg nest and place it in a plastic box to avoid touching the shell. At the same time, record the files of breeder egg production in order to establish a high-yielding, excellent breeder population. The collected pigeon eggs are placed in hatchery-specific egg trays, and sand shell eggs, misshapen eggs, and eggs that are too large and too small to hatch are selected. The disinfectant is sprayed and disinfected in proportion. After the water is allowed to dry, it can be pushed into the hatcher for incubation.

3. Incubation: Determine the incubation time based on the number of pigeon eggs. When the quantity is large, it can be placed once a day. When the quantity is small, eggs can be stored in the incubator for a few days. The incubator must be warmed for a period of time before sending it to the hatchery. Only when the desired temperature set point has been reached can the breeding pigeon eggs be hatched and marked with the date of insertion. The standard temperature for pigeon egg hatching is set at about 38.1°C, relative humidity is set at 55%, and it is controlled between 50-60%. During hatching, automatic egg turning is done for 2 hours. Manual turning of eggs can be done for 3-4 hours. When the hatching occurs on the 5th day, eggs can be picked as usual. When hatching to the 10th day, take an egg again and pick out dead dead eggs and stillbirth eggs so as to prevent the broken eggs from breaking and contaminating the box and affecting the hatching effect of the whole box.

4. Breeding: Pre-heat the hatching machine to the set value, the hatching temperature standard is 37.8°C, and the relative humidity is 65%. Remove the pigeon eggs that have been inoculated for 16 days from the incubator and gently place them in the dropper rack. After taking them, they are sent to the hatcher. After 1-2 days, the young pigeons are broken out. Individual shelling difficulties can be artificially assisted in shelling and timely removal of hatched egg shells. When the fluff on the young pigeons is dry, they can be transferred to the young pigeon incubator, and it is advisable to turn the young pigeons three times a day.

5, brooding: The incubator set at 35 °C, relative humidity is not high, put a water tray in the box can be. When the temperature rises to the set value, the hatched young pigeons can be transferred into the box. The amount of feed should be based on the number of young pigeons. The current use of fresh pigeons can maintain the freshness of the feed to avoid wastage. According to the proportion of feed and water 1:3, the synthetic pigeon milk is fully mixed and ready for use. The young birds of 1-3 days old can be fed with a 50 ml syringe, and the amount fed is 80% full and fed 3 times a day. The specific method of operation: the middle finger of the left hand and the thumb fixed the squat of the pigeon, the index finger on the upper jaw, the right hand with a syringe to feed. 4-7 days old pigeons can be fed with a 100 ml syringe to speed up the feeding. 8 to 15 days old pigeons, the temperature can be set at 28-31 °C. When the temperature is low, the young pigeons will play with each other in a crowded manner, and at the same time they will make a buzzing sound. When the temperature is high, the young pigeons will open their mouths to breathe. In severe cases, the young pigeons will have wet feathers. The breeder observes the above phenomenon and should adjust the temperature setting in time. 8-10 days old young pigeon feed can be prepared during the transitional period, ie 50% artificial pigeon milk plus 50% chicken feed. Pigs over 15 days old do not need to incubate and can be transferred to a normal temperature fattening rack and fed twice a day. After 28 days of feeding, the pigeons weighing more than 0.6 kilograms were sold on the market.

6. Management: Due to the artificial feeding of the young pigeons throughout the entire process, the strict hygiene management requirements are also quite strict and the quality of the drinking water and the freshness of the feed must always be maintained. The young pigeons before 15 days of age should clean up the pigeon droppings once a day. The tools for feeding and finishing should be cleaned in a timely manner. Regularly disinfect the pigeon lofts and manage them carefully to ensure the normal growth of the pigeons.
