Common equipment and requirements for biosafety laboratories

The following are the common equipment and requirements in the biosafety laboratory:
1. Second and third level biological safety cabinet
Uses: To carry out the operation of infectious substances.
Requirements: Class II and III safety cabinets must have an efflux system that requires the exhaust air to be completely and effectively filtered and discharged into the atmosphere.
2. Autoclave
Requirement: With a steam trap.
3. Centrifuge
Requirement: Sealing cover with anti-aerosol should be used or operated in a safety cover.
Note: Eppendorf's 5804/5810 series centrifuges meet the most stringent IEC1010-2-020 safety standards, and conventional centrifuges generally only meet the mandatory IEC1010-2 standard.
4. Ultra-low temperature refrigerator
Requirements: with defogging device or regular cleaning.
5. Ultrasonic cleaner
Requirements: Operating in a closed device, high cleaning efficiency and low noise.
6. Freeze dryer
All interfaces are well sealed, with air filter unit, stainless steel seamless cold trap is recommended to effectively capture water vapor.
7. Negative pressure safety cover
Structure: The PVC cover fixed on the steel frame can be moved as a whole, the input air passes through a HEPA filter, and the output air passes through two HEPA filters.
Uses: CO 2 incubators, microscopes, centrifuges, and other equipment.
8. Mechanical pipetting device
Uses: Prevent pathogens from entering the body.
9. Homogenizer, mixer, agitator, sonicator, tissue grinder
10. Small incinerator
Note: It is not possible to operate in a safety cabinet, which will cause eddy currents.
11. Protective jacket, gloves, mask, respiratory isolation equipment, etc.
