How to manage winter flock

In the winter, the weather is cold, the grass is rough, and the nutrition is lost. The flock has many difficulties in winter grazing. In particular, most of the sheep in the flock do not only need nutrients themselves, the fetus needs more nutrition for growth and development, and grazing alone can not satisfy nutrition. Need, the only measure is feeding.

In the early winter, there is a lot of dry leaves and the weather is not very cold. After the sun goes out of the mountains, it is grazing. At noon, the grass is grazing continuously till the returning animal husbandry. The sheep can still eat and keep the lyrics. Winter snow is thick, shady slopes are harder to accumulate, and forages are lacking. Grazing on sunny slopes or leeward and high-drying grasslands is desirable. Wind and snow can be grazing on the edge of the valley. Wind and snow can not be grazing, even if they are not enough to eat, they must feed in time. Late feeding will soon fall out. Generally from the beginning of November to May of the following year, it is the feeding period or the feeding period. Normally, two supplements should be taken each day, supplemented once before early grazing, and once after late grazing. After each autumn, the sheep farmer needs to stock enough grass, feed, juiciness silage and mineral feed according to the number of sheep of the sheep. The feeding method is to feed the grass first, followed by the succulent and silage. Minerals can be added to forage feed. The amount of supplementation can be calculated based on the number of sheep and the number of sheep, a number of days and nights of forage, and then minus the nutrition obtained by grazing should be fed nutrition.

Conversion from grazing to feeding or full-time feeding requires a day-to-day adaptation phase. Usually about 10 days. The practice is to shorten the daily grazing time and increase the amount of supplements in the morning and evening so that the sheep can gradually adapt to and habitually feed. In the early stage of feeding, good quality hay should be given and the hay should be given after habit to prevent the sudden drop of nutrition. In doing so, it will be able to adapt quickly to house feeding, otherwise indigestion and other diseases will occur and cause economic losses. After the feeding, care should be taken for hygienic dryness and ventilation, and the amount of exercise should be properly maintained to facilitate the health of the sheep and normal delivery of the ewes.
