Scientific breeding of Muscovy ducks

Muscovy ducks, commonly known as American ducks, are native to tropical rain forests in South America. Compared with ducks, they require higher ambient temperatures and can be raised early or in combination with flood and drought. Due to the fast growth of the duck, the carcasses are lean, low-fat, and nourishing, the sales have increased dramatically in recent years, and the selling price in winter has sometimes reached 12 yuan per kilogram. This has become a popular breeding program and has been favored by farmers. . At present, the domestic ducks fed by Chinese farmers are mostly Gryffinina Muscovy. The 11-week-old male ducks can weigh 3 to 3.5 kg and the female ducks can reach 2 to 2.5 kg, and the feed gain ratio is about 3:1. Its parent ducks are 165 to 180 days old and have an annual output of about 180 eggs. The weights of male and female ducks of Griffin Muscovy are very different in the middle and late stages of fattening. The female duck weight is only about 60% of that of male ducks. The ducks are aggressive and often bully the mother ducks, and the male and female ducks will be slaughtered sooner or later, so the male and female ducks will be reared in groups. Young muscovy ducks are more heat-resistant than ducks and require higher ambient temperatures. Generally, the temperature should reach 35°C at 1 day of age. Afterwards, the temperature should drop by 1°C per day and be desuperheated at 20 days or at 20°C. Therefore, the duckling must be Pay attention to insulation. In addition, the first 10 days after the young ducklings are housed and kept asleep in the yard at night, which can easily cause death. Therefore, when rearing young ducks, the number of ducks in each small room must not exceed 200, and the ducks in the yard should be split every 1 hour until the ducks are in a heap. Young Muscovy duck can use broken rice to inform the mouth, feeding ducklings in the early stage, feeding ducks in the middle period, feeding duck feeds later or adding 10% beaten rice dumplings (removing by-products other than rice when rice is beaten with a rice beater. Rice, rice bran and a lot of rice husks, crude protein is about 3%). Newborn ducklings should first use a bell-type drinking fountain for drinking water, and then use broken rice or broken corn to “eat food”. Crushed rice or crushed corn must be boiled beforehand with boiled water. After cooling, the feed trough should be used throughout the day. At present, farmers tend to feed ducks and ducks are generally feeding ducks. From the 4th day onwards, ducklings with a crude protein content of not less than 19% were gradually fed with pellets. By the age of 6 days, all ducklings fed with 19% were fed with pellets instead of corn or broken rice. At the age of 30 days, no less than 16% of medium-duck pellets were fed with crude protein, and crude ducks with no less than 15% crude protein were fed at 60 days of age. If the duck feathers are not growing fast enough, 10% of rice bran can be added to the duck after 60 days of age. The ducks are aggressive and if the feeding environment is congested, dirty, and the air does not circulate, and they are fed in separate meals, the buckets can easily occur in winter and spring, and sometimes the ducks get bloody. Therefore, one-quarter of the front of the young duck should be cut off within 1 week of age, and sterilized with iodine or iron. Some duck farmers in the rural areas are kept in open or water baths in the middle and late period, and ducklings need not be cut off. Ducks have a large amount of excrement in the late period of rearing and can easily contaminate the duck houses. Special attention must be paid to the cleanliness of the duck houses. If it is a hot day, ducks should be washed twice a day or more. If it is a cold day, we must pad grass and rice husks more than 3 times a day. Do not let the muscovy duck sleep on the feces. Otherwise, the feathers of the duck's chest will rot or become dung.
