For the Love of Books

As I sat down to reflect on the past month, I couldn't help but smile at the progress I've made with my reading goals. January turned out to be a bit of a whirlwind, with my initial plan of reading four books per month proving to be slightly ambitious. However, I'm proud to say that I managed to juggle multiple reads alongside some quick online courses and a health book that I zipped through. Let me share my thoughts on the books I've been immersed in: **Make it Happen**: This book has been a real game-changer for me. The author’s words resonate deeply, especially the quote, "Your past mistakes, no matter how heavy or confusing or deep they run, do not define you." It's not a quick read by any means—it's more of a companion that walks you through steps to achieving your dreams. I'm taking my time with it, letting its wisdom sink in. **The Body Book by Cameron Diaz**: I bought this book out of curiosity to see how Cameron Diaz approached health and wellness. While the content isn’t groundbreaking if you're familiar with nutrition, the way it’s presented is refreshing. It makes you want to take control of your lifestyle, which is always a good thing. It’s a pleasant blend of practical advice and motivational pep talks. **Girl Online**: This was a delightful surprise! A light-hearted read set in a charming British town, it was perfect for a weekend getaway—figuratively speaking. I polished it off on a flight and found myself laughing and even shedding a tear or two. It’s ideal for those looking for a cozy escape without diving too deep into heavy themes. **Ramshackle Glam**: Written by Jordan, this book is pure charm. It’s aimed at new or expectant mothers who want to maintain their sense of style and glamour post-baby. Her conversational tone makes you feel like she’s chatting over coffee, offering tips and anecdotes with wit and humor. It’s a sweet addition to any mom-to-be’s library. For February, I aim to wrap up the remaining two books from January and add two more to my stack. Additionally, I’m challenging myself to go tech-free during afternoons when I’m at home. From 3 PM to 7 PM, I want to disconnect from my phone and social media. We’ll see how this experiment goes! So, what about you? Do you have any reading goals for the year? Any recommendations that might spark my interest? Let me know—I'd love to hear from you. xo P.S. A fun little reading nook… @ramshackleglam @laracasey @camerondiaz and @zozeebo! Feel free to join me in reading these books. Let’s chat about them! --- This update reflects my journey with books and goals, and I hope it inspires you to dive into some great reads yourself.
