Monday morning, here we go! As much as Mondays can sometimes feel like they're dragging us into a whirlpool of responsibilities, I thought sharing some of the hilarious things my middle child says might bring a smile to everyone's face. It's always those spontaneous moments that make parenting such an adventure, even if I do forget to jot them down sometimes. You know how it goes—you laugh, you think, "I’ll remember this," but alas, by the time you grab a pen, it slips away.
Take Chris, for example. During one of his lessons, he asked, "What's the golden rule?" To which Brayden replied, "Don't poop in your pants!" I guess we still have room for improvement there.
And then there's the moment when Brayden proudly declares, "Okay, I charged it in," after plugging in the iPad. He’s so serious about it, like he’s invented a whole new tech term.
"I just sent a selfie picture to your phone, Mom!" he blurts out one day, as if he’s sending top-secret intel.
When it comes to coming home, he has his own way of describing it. "Okay, I'm ready to go to sweet and cozy home."
Remembering how sensitive he is to loud noises, I can’t help but chuckle when he says, "Owe, you squeezed my brain!" after Skylar screams too much. His dramatic flair knows no bounds.
As someone who loves traveling, I love hearing his excitement about adventures. "When can we go on an adventure?!" he asked before our last mountain trip. Clarifying whether he meant a day trip or something more grandiose, he clarified, "No, I mean a road trip somewhere nice and long."
On our recent Blue Mountain tour, he recounted our journey with such enthusiasm. "We went on the trail on an adventure and it was super, duper, duper, wuper long. And then we went on a bear crossing, climbed rocks, and I slid under the gate." When I asked what his favorite part was, he replied, "One, was Redbox. Then it was the adventure I just told you about."
He’s got a flair for royalty too. "I’m the king of the everything!" he proclaims with pride.
