Chicken manure can ferment feed and ferment fertilizer
Why are chicken droppings considered dirty and smelly? Because they can actually be turned into valuable resources like fertilizer and animal feed!
Using a special fermentation aid from Gymborest, chicken manure can be transformed into high-quality organic fertilizer. The process involves mixing 1 ton of organic material (equivalent to about 2.5 tons of fresh manure) with 1 kg of Golden Baby starter, along with 5 kg of rice bran or other alternatives like cornmeal per kilogram of the starter. This mixture is then evenly spread into a pile and fermented. It's best to use fresh rice bran instead of old ones, as it provides better nutrition and aeration. During the process, ensure proper oxygen supply and turn the pile regularly. Maintain the temperature around 70°C — too high may damage nutrients. Keep the moisture level between 60-65%. If it's too wet, add straw, sawdust, or dry soil; if too dry, add water. A simple test is to grab a handful of the material: it should hold a slight watermark but not drip. After 5–7 days, the finished fertilizer will be dark brown, fluffy, and slightly earthy, rich in nutrients, and ideal for fruits, vegetables, flowers, and seedlings. It significantly increases value.
For feeding purposes, you can use Golden Baby II fermentation aids. Mix 70% fresh chicken droppings (or pigeon or duck droppings as alternatives), 15% corn flour, 10% grain bran, 5% wheat bran, and 2/1000 of the Golden Baby II starter. Mix thoroughly and add water to reach about 65% moisture. The texture should be moist but not dripping. Seal the mixture in a plastic bag or container and let it ferment for 3 days (slightly longer in winter, shorter in summer). When the manure turns yellow-green, loses its odor, and has a slight sour smell, it’s ready. Start feeding gradually — begin with 10% on day one, increasing by 10% each day until reaching 50%. Pigs love this feed, remain healthy, have shiny coats, and sleep well. It can replace up to 50% of concentrate feed, saving hundreds of yuan per pig, making it a cost-effective and sustainable option worth promoting.
