Chicken manure can ferment feed and ferment fertilizer
Why is chicken droppings, which is dirty and smelly, being made into something useful? Because it can be turned into valuable fertilizer and animal feed!
Using a special fermentation aid from Gymborest, chicken manure can be transformed into high-quality organic fertilizer. The process involves mixing 1 ton of organic material (which is roughly equivalent to 2.5 tons of fresh chicken manure) with 1 kg of Golden Baby starter, and then adding 5 kg of rice bran or other alternatives like cornmeal or wheat bran per kilogram of the starter. These ingredients are diluted and evenly mixed into the pile. It's best to use fresh rice bran instead of old ones, as it provides better nutrition and air circulation. During fermentation, make sure to provide enough oxygen by turning the pile regularly. Keep the temperature around 70°C—too high can destroy nutrients. The moisture level should be between 60% and 65%. If it's too dry, the fermentation will slow down; if it's too wet, it can cause bad smells and poor aeration. To adjust the moisture, add materials like straw, sawdust, or dry soil if needed. A simple test is to grab a handful of the material: it should leave a slight watermark but not drip. After about 5–7 days, the fermentation is complete. The final product will be fluffy, dark brown, slightly earthy-smelling, and rich in nutrients. It’s perfect for fruits, vegetables, cash crops, seedlings, and flower soil, significantly increasing its value.
Another application of the Golden Baby II fermentation aid is to turn fresh chicken manure into feed. Use 70% fresh chicken droppings (or pigeon or duck droppings as substitutes), 15% corn flour, 10% grain bran, 5% wheat bran, and 2/1000 of the Golden Baby II starter. Mix thoroughly, add water, and keep the moisture around 65%. To check, press a handful of the mixture—it should form a ball but crumble easily when released. Then, pack it in a plastic bag or sealed container and let it ferment for 3 days (slightly longer in winter, shorter in summer). When the manure turns yellow-green, loses its odor, and has a slight sour smell, it’s ready to use. Start feeding gradually: on day one, add 10%, then 20% the next day, and increase up to about 50%. Pigs love this fermented feed, and it helps improve their health, fur condition, and sleep quality. It can replace up to 50% of regular concentrate feed, saving hundreds of yuan per pig. This method is cost-effective, easy to implement, and highly recommended for farmers looking to reduce costs and improve sustainability.
