Sausage arrangement for the production of cabbage

(1) Early-maturing cabbage varieties with strong cold tolerance are typically grown in protected environments. These varieties are sown in greenhouses or improved Yangshuo systems from mid-December to mid-January, and planted in small arch tunnels in mid-March. Seedlings can also be started in greenhouses as early as late November, then transplanted into greenhouses or modified Yangshuo systems from late January to early February. This approach ensures better protection against harsh winter conditions. (2) For spring cabbage, early-maturing winter varieties are preferred. In the single-crop regions of Northeast China, North China, and Northwest China, seedlings are planted in greenhouses in early February. They are later transplanted into cold beds or plastic arch sheds and moved outdoors from late April to early May. In areas like North China, Xi'an, and Jinan, which have two main cropping seasons, planting in Yangshuo begins from late January to early February, or seedlings are started in greenhouses in early February for later transplanting. In southern regions, seedlings are planted in open fields from mid to late October, with full planting done by late November to early December, and harvest occurring from April to May. Precocious spring cabbage is ideal for overwintering and can be prepared, planted, and harvested after the soil thaws. It can also be used to grow autumn crops or intercropped with corn, cotton, tomatoes, or wax gourds. (3) Heat-tolerant and disease-resistant medium-maturing varieties are selected for summer cabbage. Seedlings are sown in batches from late March to early May and transplanted from May to June, with harvesting taking place from July to September. Shade nets and insect nets are commonly used to protect the plants during this period. Summer cabbage can also be grown before short-day spinach or as a predecessor to overwintering spring vegetables. It is also suitable for autumn cultivation or as a secondary crop after overwintering vegetables. (4) Large-scale late-maturing varieties are chosen for the single-crop areas in the Northeast, North China, and Northwest China, where frost-free periods are short. Seedlings are transplanted into Yangshuo from late March to mid-April, and the main planting takes place from late May to late June, with harvests from September to October. In dual-crop areas such as North China, Xi'an, Jinan, and Taiyuan, early and medium-maturing varieties are sown in open fields from mid to late June, transplanted in late July to early August, and harvested from October to November. In the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, planting occurs from June to July, with harvests from late October to November. From late August to September, another batch is harvested between December and February. In South China, planting is done from June to August, with shade nets and rain covers used during the nursery stage. Seedlings are transplanted after about 40 days. Autumn cabbage can also serve as a spring vegetable. (5) For winter cabbage grown in greenhouses, early and mid-maturing varieties with low temperature tolerance and weak light resistance are selected. These are planted from September to October and continue growing until late December, with harvests around New Year’s Day and the Spring Festival. (6) In areas like Henan and the central and southern parts of Shandong, where winter temperatures average around -1°C in January, early and medium-maturing varieties with strong cold resistance are selected. Shady and rainproof shelters are used from late July to early August, and seedlings are transplanted from late August to early September. During winter, plants are covered with mulch, non-woven fabrics, and small sheds to protect them from the cold. Harvests occur from mid to late February to early April. To maintain soil health, it's recommended to rotate with non-cruciferous vegetables for more than three years.
